Stick This! By Jeff Nicholson is a fresh, fascinating read for anyone interested in marketing, including business owners and entrepreneurs, especially at a time when it seems like the only hot ideas, and the only must-do action items, are in social media.

I hadn’t given a thought to the power of promotional stickers until I picked up this book, but the parallels with stickers and social media marketing are amazing. Stickers, like social media, provide an easy way to show their support for your organization and encourage word-of-mouth marketing, and they can travel to unexpected locations, much like viral digital marketing.

They “invite people in and make them feel comfortable.” And they help a business to mobilize its “badgers” as Jeff calls them – “the fans and devoted customers who will be doing your marketing for free.

” One of the more interesting aspects of promotional stickers is that they “represent clear endorsements, which are not lost in a crowd of other messages” — unlike so much of online messages these days.

Through reading this book, I realized if we began every project by nut-shelling the objective into sticker form, we would have a perfect launch pad for the rest of the campaign… Or we might discover a sticker could pull all the weight.

And I have to mention how much I love the title, Stick This!. It sets the tone for a fun read which it does deliver.Note to the author: I see another book that is like the Chicken Soup series, filled with case studies of how stickers are working for businesses, submitted by businesses.

When you write this one I’ll send how we are currently using stickers and the results of our boosted sticker campaign as a result of reading this book.
